Absolutely love the OSX version of XBMC.
I am a formal HD-DVD user and instead of going Blu-ray I went to XBMC.

Best of all I still get to use my xbox controller.

Would be great if we could get 24p support on xbmc!

cheers.

I've explored this a bit, and right now there are issue with sync and frame dropping if the movie FPS and refresh rate match exactly (or at least there was last time I tried).

However, it is our goal to allow OSXBMC to auto-select the best refresh rate for the source!

Does this mean that when I finally get 1280x720 at 23,976Hz to work (it's a lot of work already) That there will be dropping frames?

Maybe this is a good place to ask if somebody got the settings for SwichresX or any other tool for this resolution at that frame rate???? :-o

I have been trying to get a perfect 1080p @ 23.976Hz output from my iMac with SwitchResX.

I have almost given up :(

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it!

Maybe a working solution with a screenshot from SwitchResX, that's my dream :)

Both screenshots are from SwitchresX, the top one is using a later version thats why it looks slightly different.

These settings work with my Panasonic PX80 42":

And these settings work with Bravia 46x3500 (by Tufty from xbmc forums):

Boinnk, with your 24hz settings does your audio still go out of sync after a couple minutes?

I have a pioneer kuro, and although 24p works fine for video, audio consistently goes out of sync.

Thanks for settings!

When using the Panasonic settings in SwitchResX on my iMac, they change slightly after applying the resolution and restarting.

Do you experience that as well?

Also with that setting applied I get some slight A/V sync problems.

PS. I output from my iMac to a RadianceXD video scaler, which is connected to a 1080p Pioneer Kuro.

Yes it does and it's, as elan said a couple of posts above, a known bug.

No my settings remain as they should. I think you have the same problem as I did; I used the settings that Tufty originally posted and they were almost perfect, they just required some tweaking before working for my TV.

Thanks for the reply.

How do you go about tweaking the setting, to achieve a perfect 23.976Hz setting?

Is there some sort of method I can use?

I tried randomly changing some porch numbers, didn't really help.

There is a good tutorial here http://www.avsforum....ad.php?t=751713
Have fun! Some advice: take some days off before you start (and don't drink while you are at it :) )

Is the bug when using the same refresh rate as the movies fps going to be fixed before the 0.7 milestone?
Ticket #150 is auto selecting the correct refresh rate, I would be extremely happy with just being able to playback 24p material judder-free (and manually set the correct refresh rate).

Agreed. As an interim fix, is there any way to fix the audio sync when 24p content is played at 23.976hz? Is this universal, or has anyone actually been able to watch 24P content at 23.976hz without any sort of video/audio sync issues?

Any news on this? No changes planned until the 0.7?

Hi! I agree, the most important bug is the 24p soundsync bug. So we all can enjoy HD in 24p on our big screen tvs :).

And thanks for the best media player availeble for mac!

Have you tried multiples of 24hz like 48,72,96 and 120 hz?
Does it work better (I'd guess the more you near multiples of 50 and 60, the better this particular problem would get)?
