I love Maverick214's Plexaeon, but I find myself only using half of all the stuff that's in there. So, with some help from a friend of mine, I created Aeon Slim. Aeon Slim is a fork that's not focused on mods and views but on Plex integration, usability and speed. It's actually more or less a direct port of the original Aeon. It was meant for personal use, but what the heck :)

Step 1: Download Aeon Slim

http://github.com/ta...n-Slim-for-Plex

Step 2: Install by placing the folder in user/library/application support/plex/skins

Step 3: Done!

Some nice Aeon Slim features:

* Überfast home menu thanks to small sized default backdrops in full HD.
* Aeon-styled Now Playing screen in grayscale fashion.
* All new description/plot popup for the App Store and Video section.

Known Issues: (please report the bugs/issues that you encounter)

* Vertical Mediamenu is on by default, should be off, to stay true to the original Aeon
* The music visualizations just shows a plain black screen. (this doesn't happen in Plexaeon)
* TV low list season view has blank after genre and if all episodes have been watched you get '9/0' rather than '9/9' for watched.
* "Pictures" is not using transparent icons.
* Multiplex doesn't show you any plot settings.

I'm no real coder, so if you know how to fix any of these issues, please post a patch =)
-----------------------------------

I'll try to keep this fork updated with the latest Plexaeon releases!

A huge thanks to Djh and Maverick214 for all their hard work!

Interesting. Just a note - I discovered that Plex v0.8.2 supports largeimage types (aka background image loading), if you utilize this for the home menu the background will have a negligible effects on the list's scrolling speed. Next time I'm digging through Aeon code I'll try and point out exactly where.

Just make sure you don't load too many largeimage's at once or else Plex seems to seg fault. I should probably put a bug post about that up.

There are some things I'd like to update, but by patch do you mean send you an "edited text file" ?

Would you mind putting this on Github so we could all contribute easier?

Yeah! You could attach it here with some notes on what you've changed. I might put it on github if there's enough interest. =)

Great idea! I'll try it out on my old 1.5Ghz intel core solo 2GB ram mac mini. If it works there, I'd be really impressed ^^

Edit: Main menu is much faster; now it works perfectly. However, the transition from the main menu to the separate sections is slow on my mac. Scrolling is also somewhat slow, though not dreadfully so. I get a black screen for a few seconds. Nevertheless, this is a huge improvement.

The music visualization just shows a plain black screen for me regardless of which visualizer or setting I choose.

Hm.. I haven't come across this myself. Neither have my friends. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

EDIT: You are right! Although the Now Playing works fine over here.

Download the whole package + apply the patches if you want the latest changes right away.
I'll include the patches in the next release, but I can't upload new releases everytime I do a simple fix and that's the reason for why they're posted separately.

Yeah, that's because of the textures. Can't do much about it. I still want people to be able to run this in all it's 1080p hi-def glory and therefore I can't compress the textures any harder.

all seems good. Just agree the same as someone reported above, a little slow on the menu to sections and scrolling is a little clunky

However, the transition from the main menu to the separate sections is slow on my mac. Scrolling is also somewhat slow, though not dreadfully so. I get a black screen for a few seconds. Nevertheless, this is a huge improvement.

but definitely agree with the last line!
thanks for sharing :-)
