No matter what media I try to access via the web client, I get "Cannot load M3U8: 404 not found". Maybe my google foo is off, but I have been searching for the source of this problem for 7 hours now and cannot find an answer. Any ideas?

Plex Media Server.log files would be helpful -> http://wiki.plexapp....#Plex_Log_Files

Best way is to restart your server, try to play something, make sure it "breaks" then grab and upload the log.

I had the same problem when I tried using the web client with the synology server so it may be a transcoding issue as the problem went away with the computer version of plex.

I had the same problem running on a linux (self-built) server. The issue was that librtmp.so.0 couldn't be found. I didn't have it on the system and the sever wasn't using the one that came bundled. I have added a symbolic link from my lib directory to the plexmediaserver/librtmp.so.0 and now I can play everything. It looks like a bug to me.

I'm having the same problem. It will play local media but the channels are not working.

Related to transcoder. Tried replacing librtmp with OS version, same issue.

Same video works OK in Windows client. Issue with web player on Linux under both google chrome and firefox?

There are not that many channels using RTMP, so that can't be the main cause here. Which channels doesn't work? And does it work as it should with local media?

I have just updated both of my servers (linux and windows servers) to 0.9.7.3 and I'm recieving M3U8: 404 not found (on both systems when trying to stream CBS etc..).

I also updated the client on my iphone and can no longer stream the channel tv's either.

Strange thing is that i decided not to update my IPAD (i.e. kept it to the previous version) and the Channel tv streams works perfectly.

can anyone share what is different within the client software? as im no hesitant to upgrade any of my other clients

It seems the lower quality, smaller sized (and priced) videos work fine but the higher quality, larger, more expensive videos are giving me the most issue.

Those are the symptoms.

All of these videos were extracted off the original DVD's. They all 'work' under VLC Media Player (I tested them), so it appears they extracted correctly.

Pictures and music work fine...

Thank's for providing this link. I've been using Plex since... Yesterday. It's the best I've seen for linux. I anticipate that encoding the content into a standard video file will do the trick. BTW, you guys did a swell job on developing this backend, your server. Glad to see you're using Python. You've done some incredible work. Glad to see that at least some company is taking this seriously; on the linux end that is. I think you guys will do well.

I seem to be having the same issue. I shut down zonealarm (firewall) and the problem goes away. i have all the programs associated with plex on the zonealarm trusted list but still get the problem when zonealarm is on maybe i'm missing something. Has anyone else had any luck

I had this issue just now. After troubleshooting, I found that the cifs did not mount on the last reboot where the files were. After remounting the cifs share, it works again. This probably related to Plex not being able to contact the data (via FW, dropped mount, etc).
