haha @ Samsung: Now they removed 1018.0 from their firmware site and state that 1017.1 from 1.12.2011 is the current firmware. Very nice if samsung could tell me how to install a 1017.x firmware over their 1018 firmware... rly nice

Interesting - I have a UE46D6530 and the current version (also dated 1 Dec) is T-GASDEUC-1015.1.

I posted on AVS forums to see if anyone had similar issues in smart hub with my model plasma and recent firmware updates as the posts here were all LCD models with different firmware. At least one person reported the same issue in Vudu after a recent firmware update. He also suggested not touching gamma and instead decreasing brightness by 10 clicks. This actually seems to be a much better fix and in retrospect the picture did not look right with the gamma changes. Post back if this works for anyone else.

Samsung release a new firmware again on december 8th. 1018.1

But i am unable to update from 1018 to 1018.1. TV states that there is no update on the USB stick (of course extracted the .exe content on stick and so on)
Would be nice to know if you also can't update

waiting for a new firmware, he said "they are working hard on a new one". I am sure they do
on the german website there is only the "new" 1018.0 and update doesn't work.

i got the 1018.1 from the german site:

But as i said, the TV rejects it as it states theres no update on USB stick

So I installed the update, I would say its a little bit better but not as good as it was with 1015.

No, but I will open a call at samsung that someone will look at that problem.

Also a new firmware is out for my TV (UE55D7090) 1021.2. Will try it today but I guess it won't change anything.

Hi,

I've got the same issue with my UE46D7000 (FW 1021.2) and Plex, streaming from a Synology DS411+.
The black is really black using builtin DLNA but grey with Plex.
Color/contrast settings are the same...

On wednesday a technician is coming to me. Will see if he can help me.
I have the same problem with the allshare app.

So the technicians were here and they couldn't help me. A panel change would problaby change nothing. They also said that I have a good panel with good lighting and they have seen much worse. If I get a new TV it could be worse than now.
I will play with the settings again.

Already thought about to get a Plasma but I read that they have also problems. Some make a noisy buzz sound or flicker.

I have the feeling that there is no perfect TV out there.

In my case, the black level is perfect using Allshare, it's only to bright using Plex even if the picture settings are exactly the same.
So not a defect pannel....

Hi All!

First of all, thanks for this great app.
The situation here is the same, I've noticed it today and I went here to find a solution, but sadly it seems still unresolved.
I have a PS64D8000 firmware 1020. Poor blacks/contrast with Plex and good with AllShare, same files. (I'm using Serviio as DLNA server and it shares the same Plex directories).

So I talked with the hotline again but they couldn't/wouldn't help me at all. They said I should wait for a new update.
Then I drove to the Samsung HQ here in Germany and they gave the number from the complaint management.
I called them and they will redirect my issue to the technical site and they will call me back soon.

I also have the same problem with UE55D7000 001021 firmware but i am not sure if it is 1021.1, 1021.2,... Where can you see this information?
It is very visible when you start a video in the screen with the "loading" blacks are perfect but once the video start with a black screen it is almost white!
Hope samsung will correct this soon! it's been a while!
