Hi and tank you for your job !

I have a apple TV 2 with plex install on it. I try to install plex windows server on my pc, but when i want to open media manger to add my files, firefox ( same pb with IE) open a 404 not found page (url : http://localhost:324...nage/index.html).

I'e tried to shutt off firewall and antivirus, but the pb still exist. Any idea ?

Sometimes it takes PMS a while to complete initialization on first run. Can you reproduce this, even if the server's been running for a bit?

If so, please supply a PMS log.

Thanks for posting the logs. From what I can see there, the 4/07 run of PMS had trouble launching plugins. There are no plugin logs from 4/07 to correlate to that run, so there was clearly an issue starting up the Python processes mentioned in the log.

As a first hypothesis, is it possible that your anti-virus software is interfering with our Python processes? Can you try disabling it, or check its logs to see if it decided that something Plex-related was malware?

If that doesn't lead to anything useful, could you possibly post Process Monitor logs for Python.exe when launching PMS?

I am also seeing this problem. Going to http://localhost:32400 returns some XML. But http://localhost:32400/manage redirects to http://localhost:324...nage/index.html and promptly fails with “404 Not Found.”

This is on Debian 6 32-bit running under VMware Fusion bridged network.

I attached Plex’s logs and ifconfig (if relevant.)

I was not allowed—apparently—to attach any files, so I uploaded the log files here instead.

Found a couple of issues with a clean install.

First of all the start.sh seems to assume that everybody has a locale of en_US (i'm en_GB) and it fails to set the locale on startup unless you tweak it. To fix it just modify your start.sh lines 7 and 8 and change en_US to en_GB (or whatever your locale is).

The second problem seems to be that Plex has a dependancy on rsync but it's not being enforced by apt-get. I did an apt-get install rysnc and then the server started up fine and I no longer get a 404 when looking at the manage screen.

Hope it helps some people.

Yep, definitely helped! Thanks a bunch. I did a clean install on a headless debian server with the new plex debian package and I got the 404 error when trying to connect. Installed the rsync like you, apt-get install rsync and its working. Thanks again.
